Customer Q and A
Many great Question and Answers about estimating the electrical costs of mining, and one user, Dave, provides the math quickly:
Here is a good article on how to calculate the watt usage. (see: https://www.kompulsa.com/how-much-power-are-your-appliances-consuming/ ). The Avalon6 requires a 1200 watt power supply. That is 1200 watts per hour or 28,800 watts per day (or 28.8KW). For a month the usage would be 864KW and a year would be 10,368KW. In Missouri where the electricity is fairly cheap at 5.7 cents per KW that would be approximately $591 in electricity costs per year. Hope this helps. David
In Manitoba, residential rates of 0.08c/KW, would be roughly $800 per year, or $75 per month in electricity.
Avalon6 Customer Reviews
By Zach Jones,
I have to say I was very impressed with the Avalon 6. It took me a few minutes to hook up. It comes with everything you need to get it up and running fast. I am getting a pretty good hash rate out of it currently. All you need is a power supply and you will be mining Bitcoin!!
